Bei Fang Dim Sum: The Legacy Continues

In the heart of Brickell—where the skyline meets the sea and the rhythm of Miami pulses with energy—Hutong invites you to slow down and savor a new kind of dim sum experience. One that looks north, to China’s coldest regions, and reimagines centuries of culinary heritage through a refined and seasonal lens.

Launching March 28th, Bei Fang Dim Sum: The Legacy Continues marks the second chapter in our acclaimed Northern Chinese dim sum series. Following its celebrated debut last fall, this next evolution brings eight entirely new creations to Hutong Miami—each inspired by the flavors, techniques, and ingredients of Dongbei, Shandong, and Sichuan.

These are not the dim sum dishes you already know. At Hutong, tradition meets transformation. Our chefs—guided by the creative vision of Executive Dim Sum Chef Leung Kwok Wah and Head Chef Dingxu Ren—have translated regional dishes into delicate, bite-sized expressions that are both unexpected and deeply rooted in place.

Among the highlights:

• Charcoal Lamb and Fennel Dumplings, infused with northern fennel and wrapped in jet-black skin, served with a spicy fennel sauce that warms from within.

• Mapo Tofu and Lobster Rolls, where silky tofu and fresh lobster are sautéed with Sichuan peppercorn, then wrapped in bean curd and crisped to perfection.

• Seafood Spring Rolls with Seaweed, featuring shrimp, scallop, and young blades of Tau Water seaweed from Fujian, offering a bright umami bite.

• Dan Dan Bao, a playful take on the classic noodle dish, filled with minced pork and sesame-chili sauce, pan-seared with a sesame-crusted base.

• Crispy Bean Curd Dumplings with Wild Mushroom and Egg, shaped like delicate pouches and filled with finely chopped vegetables and northern white fungus for layers of texture and flavor.

• Ma La Spicy Chicken Dumplings, inspired by Xinjiang spice blends, pan-fried with a crisp golden layer.

• Crab Roe and Crab Meat Dumplings, slow-cooked and topped with caviar for an elegant finish.

Guests may enjoy these dishes individually or as part of the Hutong Northern Dim Sum Platter—a dramatic tasting experience unveiled tableside beneath a flame, revealing all eight creations in a single, unforgettable moment.

This is dim sum redefined. A seasonal journey through the North, made for the vibrant palate of Miami. Available only from March 28 through June 28 at Hutong Miami.

Whether you live nearby, are staying in Brickell, or simply seeking one of the city’s most unique culinary offerings, this is an experience worth carving out time for. We invite you to take the journey with us.
